Girl Insta-rupted

Dec 12, 2018

Danielle joins Syd back on the podcast today. They’re both discussing the emotions that arise with the holidays. Oftentimes people feel overwhelmed this time of year because they’re dealing with crowded malls and awkward family visits. Those who don’t have family are feeling anxious, lonely and depressed. In this episode Danielle shares some tips and tricks on how to cope with the holiday blues. It’s perfectly ok to celebrate the holidays in a manner that feels right for you. Start your own tradition, take part in self-care routines and do something that feels good to you. You don’t need to put pressure on yourself to fit into the mold of what society says the holidays should be like. Use this time to reflect and go inward.

  1. Anxiety around holiday traditions.
  2. Family portraits and holiday highlight reels.
  3. Normal is just a setting on a dryer.
  4. If the cops are involved in your holiday, you’re doing it right.
  5. Avoiding the holidays as a new tradition.
  6. Spending time with your spouse’s family.
  7. Face tattoos = crowded souls.
  8. Staying in and not attending holiday parties.
  9. Self-care routines.
  10. Reassessing and going inward.
